How to make Whole Wheat Sweet Potato Muffins
When babies get to the age of eating biscuits, muffins and the likes, they tend to like the very sweet ones. We really can’t trust the amount of sugar these companies use in making these snacks. So to avoid feeding your babies with all these junks, the best thing is to make yours.

Remember we told you how important sweet potatoes are to babies diet? Well you can be sure that with this is the perfect snack for those adorable darlings. We intentionally chose to use whole wheat for added nutrients.
Also, the brown sugar used in place of normal white sugar is for a reason. We find it vastly improves the flavour if the sweet potatoes we’re using in the recipe are not particularly sweet to begin with.
Try it out.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup all purpose flour
4 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp butter
1 medium sweet potato (peeled, diced and steamed until tender)
1/4 cup milk
3/4 tsp nutmeg
3/4 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 deg F (180 deg C).
Mash the sweet potato thoroughly.
Combine the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar in a bowl.
Add the butter and rub it into the flour between the fingertips or until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Mix in the mashed sweet potato.
Stir in the milk, a little at a time, until the mixture forms a soft dough.
Scoop the mixture into a muffin pan and bake for 10 to 15 mins, until risen, golden and firm.
Cool on a rack and serve to baby
