Every working parent, especially in traffic-prone cities, is constantly torn between trying to fulfill the demands of our jobs and paying sufficient attention to our kids. In extreme situations, we can go days without spending quality time together; we’re out too early and back too late.
Even on days when we’re home early, a key consideration is deciding what to make them for dinner. We are tired but know that they have to eat and we want to make sure they’re eating healthy. Well, news flash….quick meals need not be junk food!
We can serve oven-made (not fried) chips with pork or chicken sausages; a burger (made from real beef); stir-fry with vermicelli noodles, prawns and mixed vegetables; grilled plantain with eggs – all meals that can be ready in as little as 20 minutes.
Don’t waste precious time at home cooking elaborate, time-consuming meals; whip up something quick and, instead, spend time bonding with your children.
