How to make Piña Colada
The first time I heard this was in a movie (can’t remember the name now) I was watching with my girlfriend and her boyfriend in her father’s sitting room and I was so embarrassed when my friend’s bf asked if I knew what it was. What was more embarrassing than my ignorance (or naivety if you please) was that I actually thought Piña Colada was a sexual word! For two reasons – the way the guy in the movie said it with mischief and then not wanting to sound ‘not-in-touch’ to my friend and hers. It was a mightily awkward moment, my friend’s bf went home shortly…I ‘goofed’ but then I learned what Piña Colada was. Fast forward to today – I want to teach what I did not know so you don’t have to make my mistake.
Servings: 2 glasses
Prep time: 7 minutes
Ingredients:
1 slice of pineapple
2 oz (60ml) white rum
1 oz (30 ml) coconut cream
3 oz (90ml) pineapple juice
1 bag (crushed) ice.
Preparation:
- Pour one cup of ice, your coconut cream, white rum and pineapple juice into a blender and blend. Remain a slice of pineapple for dressing.
- Pour into a glass and put your sliced pineapple on the edge of the glass as dressing.
There you go! Quite simple yeah? Thank me later.
